Product intelligence

Use product behavior data to make better product decisions

Product intelligence turns observed usage into evidence for prioritization, onboarding, activation, and workflow decisions. Vectr4 provides a focused view of events, funnels, sessions, and user journeys for technical SaaS teams.

01

Product intelligence connects analysis to a decision

Product analytics describes the collection and analysis of usage data. Product intelligence emphasizes what a team learns from that evidence and how it changes a product decision.

The useful unit is not a dashboard viewed in isolation. It is a question, a validated set of events, an observed pattern, and a concrete next investigation or product change.

02

Start with founder questions that product data can answer

Use product metrics to define recurring measures and event analytics to inspect their underlying behavior.

  • Which action most clearly represents activation for this product?
  • Where does a signup, setup, or checkout sequence stop?
  • Which named features appear in real user sessions?
  • What path precedes a successful outcome or repeated workflow?

03

Use activation signals based on completed outcomes

This sequence is more informative than signup alone because it connects account creation to the first usable analytics workflow. A team can compare the expected sequence with sessions that stopped early.

Vectr4 does not automatically define activation. The product team must choose and validate the events that represent value for its own customers.

Vectr4 example

workspace_created → sdk_installed → first_event_received → funnel_created

04

Inspect feature usage without confusing clicks with value

Adoption

Does a meaningful feature event appear after users become eligible to use it?

Depth

Which completed actions show that the workflow went beyond opening a screen?

Sequence

What happened before and after the feature outcome in sessions and journeys?

Friction

Where do paths loop, backtrack, or stop before the intended result?

05

Use funnels and paths as evidence, not automatic answers

A funnel identifies drop-off in an expected order. A journey reveals routes that did not follow that order. Together they can focus a product review on one workflow rather than a general assumption about users.

Behavior patterns do not prove motivation. Pair product intelligence with direct customer research when a decision depends on understanding why the pattern exists.

06

Keep the product intelligence stack focused and operable

Vectr4 is intentionally narrower than enterprise analytics and warehouse platforms. It does not claim experimentation, feature flags, session replay, or a customer-data platform. It focuses on behavioral evidence a small technical team can operate and use.

The Docker Compose deployment gives the customer infrastructure control and operational responsibility. Review product analytics tools before choosing focused scope over a broader suite.

Event activity

Inspect named product actions and the bounded properties sent with them.

Funnels

Connect ordered events to examine progress and drop-off between steps.

Sessions

Review activity as a timed sequence without relying on screen recording.

User journeys

Follow paths through a product for anonymous and identified activity.

FAQ

Product intelligence questions

What is product intelligence?

Product intelligence is the use of observed product behavior to support concrete product decisions about activation, workflows, adoption, and friction.

How is product intelligence different from product analytics?

Product analytics describes the measurement discipline; product intelligence emphasizes the decisions and learning produced from that evidence.

Does Vectr4 automate product decisions?

No. Vectr4 provides behavioral evidence through events, funnels, sessions, and journeys. The team remains responsible for interpretation and action.

Is Vectr4 an experimentation platform?

No experimentation or feature-flag capability is claimed.
